The Code of Ethics requires REALTORS® to provide disclosure, accounting, and reasonable care and diligence to customers as well as clients.
Article 1 requires REALTORS® to pledge themselves to protect and promote the interests of their client but does not relieve REALTORS® of their obligation to treat all parties honestly.
The Code of Ethics requires REALTORS® to provide disclosure, accounting, and reasonable care and diligence to customers as well as clients. The duty of disclosure is found in several Articles and Standards of Practice: Article 2, with respect to material and pertinent facts, Article 4 and Article 5, with respect to a REALTOR®'s role in a transaction, Article 7, with respect to a REALTOR® receiving a fee from two parties in the same transaction, and Standards of Practice 1-5 requires disclosure and informed consent to represent both parties in the same transaction.
